On October 17 and 18, 2023 , the Councilman for a Day initiative offered Bogotá's diverse community the opportunity to get involved in local politics.
The event included a virtual session on October 17 at 5:30 pm via Zoom, and an in-person session on October 18 at 11:30 am at the Concejo de Bogotá building.
Participants learned about the Councilman, interacted with Councilmans, and made proposals for their community. This space encouraged citizen participation and allowed all voices to be heard.
During these sessions, participants had the opportunity to learn about how the Bogotá City Council works, interact with Councilmans, and make proposals to improve their community.
The combination of virtual and in-person meetings allowed for inclusive and enriching participation, adapting to different needs and preferences.
The initiative not only sought to educate about the district process, but also to empower the diverse community by offering a space where their voices could be heard and valued.
